Hyva drives tipping to the digital age
Hyva, the world market leader in Front End Cylinders, will take Tipping Solutions to the next level with the launch of Hyva Smart, a unique cloud-based Intelligent Tipping and Fleet Management platform which makes extensive use of Internet of Things (IoT) technology. Integrated with Hyva front-end cylinders, Hyva Smart enhances the company’s digital products and services portfolio. Hyva Smart has been initially introduced in China, the world’s largest tipping truck market, and will be rolled out globally during 2019.
Using digital, sensor-based monitoring to deliver real-time alerts and warnings to the driver, via smartphone app or dedicated screen, Hyva Smart is built upon the insights gained from four decades of cylinder design and production, to provide an intelligent environment in which drivers are supported to make optimum decisions at any given time. This is achieved through a range of indicators, including overload, side load, safe drive, vehicle angle, body tipping, buckling and safe drive. Together, these indicators deliver greater safety and comfort for drivers and better protection of tipping vehicles.
Hyva Smart not only enhances safety and driver performance, but also provides data that can be used to drive efficiency and improve fleet availability, reducing maintenance and downtime costs. This is achieved by allowing the operator to monitor vehicle performance in each tipping cycle. Data collected from this process are sent to Hyva’s cloud platform and online portal, where they can be analysed to produce metrics that can help, for example, to improve payload management, reduce unplanned breakdowns and create preventive maintenance schedules. Safer, compliant and more efficient operations can contribute to improved fleet productivity and longer lifetime of assets.
Designed around cloud connectivity, Hyva Smart can be used anywhere, at any time, and additional analogue sensors (e.g. proximity sensors for sheeting systems or rear door position) can easily be added to the platform. In fact, the functionality delivered by the Hyva Smart platform is constantly evolving, so that customers can scale the solution to meet their needs as they grow or change. Fully integrated with Hyva front end cylinders – Flash (retro-fit) and Alpha (retro-fit or new) – for mining, construction and transport applications, Hyva Smart will be available both for rigid trucks and tractor-trailers, and in multiple languages.
