Beam and height warning - BEHEW

Item code: 11106

The Beam and height warning system (BEHEW) consists of the two systems: Beam warning (BEW) and Height warning (HEW). These two systems provide the monitoring of the crane’s maximum height and width and complies with the EU Standard EN 12999.

Prepared for easy installation

The crane is prepared with switches and cables ready to be installed by the vehicle body builder. The crane installer makes sure that signals from sensors are led into the driver’s cab to both an acoustic signal and a diode. In this way, the driver is warned before driving off if the maximum crane height or width is exceeded.

Full integration of separate stabilizer beam

The connection box is also prepared with extra inputs so that a separate traverse can easily be integrated in the system.

Beam warning

The beam warning system consists of an electronic sensor, which detects whether a stabilizer beam is completely retracted into its transport position. The electric signal from the sensor activates an acoustic signal and a diode in the driver’s cab within the driver’s line of vision if the stabilizer beam is not locked in correct transport position.

Height warning

The height warning system monitors whether a crane ready for transportation from one job site to another exceeds a predetermined max. permissible height. The system consists of an electric sensor or a contact detecting whether the boom system of the crane is below a certain predetermined height. The electric signal from the sensor or the contact activates an acoustic signal and a diode in the driver’s cab if the boom system is not below the predetermined height.
