Intelligent parking assist system
In applications where the crane works in combination with a comprimator, the operator has limited visibility. The intelligent parking assist system (IPA) helps the operator stow the boom system into the stowing bracket on the comprimator. The system helps prevent erroneous operation that may cause damage to the crane, equipment, or the truck.
Sensors monitor the boom system
When the crane has to be stowed over a comprimator, the operator on the ground has reduced visibility, which makes stowing difficult and potentially dangerous for the equipment. With the IPA system, several sensors placed on the crane give a signal when the crane is inthe following positions:
- All extensions are completely retracted, and the jib is in line with the main boom
- The precise direction of the boom system over the stowing bracket
- The precise direction of the boom system in high positions
The IPA system is developed specifically for our recycling cranes (S-cranes) in order to ease the parking of the crane over a comprimator.
How IPA works
The different sensors on the crane send signals to the RCL safety system in order to assist you park the crane in its stowing position.
Once all extensions are completely retracted and the jib is in line with the main boom, you move the main boom of the crane with a stretched boom system downwards until the height sensor stops the movement. Next you move the crane towards the stowing bracket until the IPA automatically stops theslewing movement.
When the slewing movement has been stopped, the indicator light placed on the boom cylinder is lit. This confirms that the boom system is right over the stowing bracket.
It is now possible for you to lower the boom system precisely into the stowing bracket at reduced speed. The height sensor placed in the stowing bracket confirms correct stowing and stops the lowering movements.
