High stand safety system - quadrant
Operating a crane from high stand provides an increased visibility and improves working conditions. But it requires an efficient safety system in order to avoid any striking risk for the operator.
Protection for you as an operator
The HSL-Q is a safety system for high stand. The safety system monitors the movements of the crane. It prevents the crane from striking the operator, both when the operator stands on the stand-up platform and in case of emergency operation of the crane from the ground.
The angle of the main boom matters
The system is automatically activated when the operator is standing on the stand-up platform and the main boom of the crane is below a predetermined angle. Here the slewing movement and the downwards crane movement are stopped before the boom system of the crane hits the operator. This prevents the risk of shearing and trapping the operator.
It is possible to carry out the slewing movement in the entire slewing area, if the main boom of the crane is above a predetermined angle and the jib is above the vertical position away from the control position.
The Q in HSL-Q refers to quadrant. It refers to how the safety system protects the operator. It protects the operator from the sides and from above.
